Where in the world is Wakened Apparel: BC, Canada

We are excited to bring our Wakened community a new blog series: Where in the world is Wakened Apparel. For this blog series we want to take you along with us where we do our photoshoots, our travels, and what we see. We hope you love this blog series and that you enjoy following us around as a community. Hopefully you can also get some tips and ideas for any future travels you may want to take. For this adventure we went to Vancouver and Victoria, BC, Canada. Hope you enjoy!

For this trip we hopped in a rented Jeep Renegade and drove from the San Fransisco, Bay Area to Portland, Oregon. We stayed there for a few hours to stretch our legs and walk around a bit. A good place to visit is Barista Cafe, which is located on 539 NW 13th ave in Portland, OR. Awesome location to walk around and do some shopping and eating. Surrounding Barista Cafe was plenty restaurants and stores. Here are a few:

River Pig Saloon This place had many options for drinks and food. The owner was really nice. Even though we didn't eat there, he allowed us to use his outdoor seating to enjoy our coffee and even brought us water.

Hunt and Gather A cool little store with home decor items.
Keen Footwear Is great for cool hiking shoes and outdoor gear. They even have a shoe vending machine outside their store! Their head quarters is 515 NW 13th ave in Portland

Filson A unique store for quality outdoor apparel, bags and accessories.
For drinks: Brix Tavern, Cider Bite, Oba Restaurant, Andina

I stopped at Greenleaf Juicing Company for a couple of cold press juices which were really good. They are right next to Jamison Square. We took at little break at Jamison Square to enjoy some juice, which was a really nice place to sit and relax on such a nice day.

After stretching our legs and walking around a bit, we headed straight to Vancouver, BC, Canada.
Our first stop was Granville Island in Vancouver, BC, Canada. We recommend this place to everyone! You can spend all day shopping, looking at art, making your own art and enjoying lots of food. Plus it has a large indoor farmers market and really cool street performers.

From here we went to the Capilano Bridge. This is located in Vancouver about 10 min from Granville Island. The Capilano Bridge is so much fun and a bit scary but there is lots to see and it's great place to walk around, move your legs and do some exploring. Prices to visit is $42.95 for adult and $26.95 for youth. Here are some pictures of the bridge.

We then took a ferry from Vancouver to Victoria island. The company that we booked for the ferry is bcferries.com. Take the Tsawwassen to Swartz bay because from there you can take your car and stop at the Buchart Gradens. This place is beautiful! You can spend a few hours walking around and enjoying the gardens. It's $32.60 for adults and $16.30 for youth. We also did High Tea there, which we recommend everyone to do. It's a really fun experience. High Tea is $35.00 per person but it fill you up -- very fancy too. Below are some photos of Buchart Gardens:

The next day we Visited Hatley Castle where the X-men movies have been filmed as well as Smallville and arrow for those comic book fans. It's free admission since its an active university. These are some photos of the location:

We also visited the Royal BC Museum i recommend this to everyone, to learn the history of the natives of Canada, what they lost and what an amazing people they were. The museum thoroughly covers their history as well as everything up until modern times. Really great experience. Entrance cost is $22.00 for adult and $16.00 for youth.

One of our favorite experience, well at least for me, was taking a plane around the entire island. It was short about 30 minute flight but it was just an amazing experience and beautiful to see. We did it through Harbour Air . It cost $119 per adult and $59 for children. It's a bumpy right though so if you're typically an anxious flyer, you might want to pass on this one. Here are some photos from the flight:
We truly enjoyed Vancouver and Victoria, BC. It is an amazing place with so much to do! Lots of amazing places to eat, great shopping and sight seeing. Victoria has an english feel and if you walk on Dallas road starting at the cruise ship dock you can see lots of marine life, and maybe catch a whale or two depending on the time of year. Make sure you have time to check out Fatan Alley and china town, other great places to visit Beacon hill, Ogden Point, Cragdera Castle. Here is a list of some great places to eat:
Cafe Brio, Jam Breakfast Place, Bluefox Breakfast, Nourish Breakfast, Sydney Scones are amazing, Wildfire bakery, Cafe Bliss. Come hungry.
