Do you have an idea or dream you want to turn into a business? Taking the leap to start your own venture is one of the most exhilarating yet terrifying things you can do in life. In episode 22 of The Wakened Podcast, we share our experience in starting businesses. We also talk about what it takes to succeed, the difficult realities of owning your own business and some things we've learned along the way.
Hopefully the advice and experience we share will help any aspiring entrepreneurs starting out in their journey. Here's a brief list of take aways from the episode:
- Do your research! Don't jump into something blindly. Do as much research as you can. And make sure your offering is going to be profitable and that it's something people will actually pay for.
- Don't be afraid of failure. if you aren't making mistakes you aren't growing. If you have hang-ups around 'failure', try re-working them as 'lessons'. It's all part of the process. You'll learn more from your mistakes then your triumphs.
- There is no 'secret formula' to over-night success. Consistency is key in any business or project. Great things take time. Don't let instant gratification culture make you think otherwise. Put your head down and focus. It's going to take time. You'll get out of it what you put in. And if you're not putting much work into it, don't expect great results.
- Work smarter, not harder. While we do believe in working hard and hustling, being intentional about what you're doing is even more important. Make a plan of action that will yield you a return on investment. This will make you actually productive, instead of eating up your day with 'busy work'.
These are just some of the things we discuss in this episode. We hope you give it a listen wherever you get podcasts. If you listen to the episode -- take a screen shot of it, upload it to your Instagram Stories and share one thing you took away! Don't forget to tag us @TheWakenedPodcast.
